Picked this watch up a while back and had some time to work on it today. As soon as i saw it i knew it would look good once it had been serviced and cleaned up.
This watch has a 25 jewel AS 1906 automatic movement.
The watch obviously needed a new crystal, wasn’t working and the stem wasn’t engaging properly so i knew it would need a full service at the least.
When disassembling the watch there was a lot of old oil clogging up the movement.
As i mentioned earlier, the stem wasn’t working as it should, it didn’t have the correct “snap” or tension you would expect when engaging the hands.
The culprit was the set lever bridge, this was snapped and needed a replacement, luckily i picked up the part from Horoligical Suppliers-Watch Parts (shameless plug i know!)
The mainspring definitely needed a clean!
The automatic framework was disassembled
Once the parts were run through the cleaning machine (a few times) the assembly commenced
Quite happy with the result.
Thanks for popping by
